I've been asked to host a thread for these boards and I've chosen the one thing I know the most about. Anime! Most have heard of it and either love it or hate it. I will post reviews of old, new and upcoming anime's as they are released here and elsewhere in the world. Please don't hesitate to have simple discussions about anime's of any kind, I've heard of most of them. And most chatters know of my obscene obsession with it anyways. Ja ne!

Wow! Posts! Well there haven't been any new releases as of last night here, but there have been a ton of new ones going to American and Canadian tv. Alot like Pokemon, but a few more adult (not dirty you pervs!) ones coming out for late night tv. The newest one to hit north american waves is Inuyasha, the story of a schoolgirl named Kagome who jumps down a well in her grandfathers shrine. She travels back in time to the Feudal Era and befriends a half human half demon warrior named Inuyasha. It's quite adult in language and storyline, but it's very good for character development and design. One review down, thousands to go!

tell us more about the dirty anime ;D i've seen a couple myself and was quite confused when some sort of swamp monster used a tentacle to have sex with this chic. if i remember correctly, it was like if the chic succumbed to the tentacle sex then she lost the battle, but if she resisted she could kill the swamp monster. help me out here seph cause it made no sense to me.

Not sure what to tell you cyn. I've never been a fan of hentai anime. The whole tentacle sex thing came around in the 80's when they started making hentai for the really hardcore fans. It started out with anime characters people knew (let's say sailor moon for example because everyone knows who they are), and the real animators of the clean show got mad. They had to stop doing it for copyright purposes, but then started making their own characters and movies up. It's been a huge phenomenon ever since, and it's more or less popular because it's "taboo". Noone assumes tentacles sex is normal. lol But it's used as a cover up for "girls having anonymous sex with men" which is seriously taboo over here. (as im sure it is everywhere lol) The monster would be associated with dirty men who want a woman just for sex, to get what they wanted of her. If they don't want it or enjoy it, they kill them. Have that on your conscience

New news! My friend Obsidian that lives in Canada, went to the Canadian National Anime Convention this past weekend. I wanted to go but the damned flight cost too much. It's run by fans for fans, and has been going on for the past 7 years. It's alot of dealers selling their goods (alot of which is unavailable to buy in stores) and autograph sessions with voice actors. And of course COSPLAY! Cosplay is not just for anime fans, but anyone who likes to dress like their favourite created characters. I'm told (and have seen elsewhere for myself) that the costumes were very awesome. Obsidian dresses up as well. lol Green hair and a soldier's uniform. Very neat-o. Anime cons can be found tons of places in the world. Vancouver, Canada has alot of them mainly because of their large Asian population, and also because the voice studios for most english dubbed anime's are there. This particular con in Toronto also had the SciFi Con, Comic Con and Horror Con thrown in. Lots of Trekkies she said! They usually span a weekend, and run late into the night with JPop dances, Dance Dance Revolution contests and Masquerade competitions. They are worth a try for anyone that's into anime. Now that I've run myself hoarse writing this much, enjoy!

OMG A MISSED CON! SAY IT ISN'T SO! I also have news for our canadian and american chatters. A new anime called Gundam Seed has arrived on the scene. Much like the other Gundam series', it involves world peace and fighting machines or 'mecha' called Gundams. The new characters are both male and female (a big change from the notably all male pilots from past shows). It's being aimed towards young adults, so there are some situations of violence and gunfighting stuff. I have been a Gundam fan for years and I'll include this new chapter as a favourite as well I urge you to check it out if you enjoy army style fighting and outerspace themes. There are also quite a few websites out there about it. www.gundams.net/ is a site that includes most of the gundam shows in existence. ^_^

OK, starting a new feature to 'Sephy's Anime Talk' called 'Ask Sephy'. Ask me anything you need to about it. Whether it's 'what is anime?' or 'what kinds of anime are there?' it doesn't matter. Any difficulty or stupidity known to man. I can answer them all ;D I will also be running a few links in here about cosplay and its beginnings. Check back soon for more updates!

OMG OMG OMG Everyone who reads this post HAS to find out all they can about an anime called Vampire Hunter D. Set in a fictional world where a nuclear winter killed most of mankind, a vampire lord watches over a sleepy town waiting for his bride. It's dark and creepy and has everything a vampire story should have. The characters are very indepth and the most fabulous part of this anime are the landscapes. The artwork done on this particular story are some of the best I've ever seen. And I'm a connoisseur! www.vampirehunterdbloodlust.com/ this is the homepage for the movie version of the anime. It's called BloodLust. Creepy eh?

yes sephy, the title does make it sound creepy and mysterious at the same time. the whole story line is excellent for a vampire movie, the animation in it is superub by any standards.
