COMPUTERS HINTS Q & A
I thought to open this thread, and that it would be open to all. Those with computer questions, and those with the answers would post in here. {you don't have to be a computer expert to post if you have the answers on a question}
Computers' hints would also be very useful to all as well as suggestions on various programs.
And thanks to Xs Chat for permitting this.
Good luck to us all.

Extra Storage.
I have of late been downloading old songs, and more importantly to me old radio stories. I solved the problem of storage with external hard drives, that work equally well on desktop and laptops. You can use a new hard drive or an old one. I have been using these for years.
You get an external hard drive container, and a hard drive, the container has its own power supply. Plug it into your U S B port or if none into your printer port. And your in business. The last hard drive I brought for this purpose is two hundred fifty gigs in size, and I was surprise that win XP will format it as one drive, no need to partition it.
And you can move it from computer to computer to use.
Next time “pen” or sometime called “cigars” for portable memory storage they are “Neat”

Well in researching how to copy DVD’S discovered the following.
The copying program must have “CSS De-encryption, as part of it program.
Many software advertise “Will copy all your DVD movies”. This is misleading as they mean your home movies.
It is legal for you to make one copy of a DVD movies that you own as a back up.
The pirated DVD movies, don’t have a encryptions code, so you can copy them with any copying program.
It takes about a hour to make the copy, as it de-codes, compresses and copies to your hard drive, then burns to your blank DVD. Even using two DVD readers and burners...
The program I finally brought was DVD Cloner II for $39.94, but had to get there older version as the new version did not copy the sound....There tech section replied in two days to the problem, with the solution,
The good news it will copy the whole thing or if you chose the movie only which is GREAT. Well have fun...
